Constant surface moisture from sprinkler heads positioned near tree trunks promotes crown rot at the root collar. Overwatering saturates the root zone and creates anaerobic conditions that suffocate fine feeder roots. Shallow, frequent irrigation keeps moisture near the surface, encouraging shallow root development that makes trees more susceptible to drought stress and windthrow.

Seasonal Startup and Winterization

Illinois irrigation systems require proper winterization before the ground freezes to prevent pipe, valve, and head damage. We provide:

• Spring Startup: Full system inspection and activation, head adjustment, controller programming, and a walkthrough to identify any winter damage before the growing season begins.
• Fall Winterization: Complete system blowout using compressed air to clear all water from lines, heads, and valves before temperatures drop below freezing.
• Mid-Season Service Calls: Repair of broken heads, zone failures, controller malfunctions, and other mid-season issues with priority scheduling for contract clients.

Annual Maintenance Agreements

Maintenance contracts provide scheduled startup, mid-season check, and winterization visits each year, keeping your system efficient and catching minor issues before they become costly repairs. Contract clients receive priority scheduling throughout the season.
